President sends message of sympathy to the Chancellor of Germany

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a message of sympathy to the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Her Excellency Dr. Angela Merkel, following the tragic crash of Germanwings flight 4U 9525, resulting in the loss of life of all passengers and crew on board, including a number of German citizens.

The President’s message reads as follows:

“I was deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the tragic crash of Germanwings flight 4U 9525, resulting in the loss of life of all passengers and crew on board, including a number of German citizens.”

“At this time of great national tragedy and grief, I wish to extend, on behalf of the Government and the people of the Maldives and on my own behalf, our profound sympathy to you, the Government and the people of Germany, and, in particular, to those who were directly affected by the tragedy.”

“Please also convey our sincere condolences to the members of the bereaved families.”
