The Ambassador of Japan to the Maldives calls on the Foreign Minister

08 April 2014, Male'; The Ambassador of Japan to the Maldives, His Excellency Mr. Nobuhito Hobo, has paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency Ms. Dunya Maumoon.

At the meeting held this morning at the Ministry, Minister Dunya extended the greetings from the government and the people of the Republic of Maldives to the government and the people of the Japan.

Minister Dunya also highlighted the value attached by the Government of Maldives in respect of the bilateral ties that exist between the two countries, and highlighted the attributes of shared values, and mutual respect, that underlie the close relations.

Minister Dunya and Ambassador Nobuhito exchanged views on ways to further enhance ‎cooperation between the two countries.‎ Minister Dunya, also underscored the significance of the roles played by Japan, as a close international partner to the Maldives and as a great contributor towards the socio-economic development of the country. In this regard Minister Dunya extended her gratitude for the continual assistance from the government of Japan.

Minister Dunya was accompanied by Mr Ali Naseer Mohamed, Foreign Secretary and Ms. Aishath Azeema, Joint Secretary of the Foreign Ministry of the Maldives.
