Delegations from the Government of Maldives and the State of Palestine, has held offical talks at the Ministry of Foriegn Affairs, today. These discussions form part of working program of the Palestine Foreign Minister's offical visit to the Maldives. The delegation of the Maldives was led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E Ms Dunya Maumoon and the delegation of the State of Palestine was led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Palestine, H.E Dr. Riyad al-Malki.
Minister Dunya initiated the official talks by noting the close cordial relations, cemented by bonds of Islamic brotherhood, that exist between the two countries.
At the offical talks, both sides primarily discussed ways of further strengthening the close historic ties of friendship and cooperation that exist between the two countries.
Minister Dunya,further reiterated on the unwavering committment of the Maldives to the Palestinian Cause and on the tremendous importance the Government of Maldives attaches to its success thereof. In this regard, Minister Dunya recalled the recent actions by the Maldives, in support of the Palestinian's bid towards recognition of its statehood, at the 67th Session of the UN General Assembly, held in New York. The Maldivian and the Palestinian delegations, further concurred and shared their views on various issues prevalent at the international arena today.
In concluding the discussions, both Ministers expressed confidence that the relations between the two countries will continue to grow from strength to strength.
