Foreign Service institute of Maldives holds briefing for newly appointed Ambassadors

14 December 2016, Male'; The Foreign Service Institute of Maldives (FOSIM) has held its briefing session for the newly appointed diplomats to be posted at Maldives missions abroad.

The one day briefing session held today at the Ministry, oriented the diplomats to diplomatic protocol, diplomatic communication, foreign policy, multi-lateral engagements, dealing with issues in international politics and consular issues. In addition to this, the program highlighted the several aspects of budgeting and financial management, reporting and effective coordination with missions and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, HE Dr. Mohamed Asim welcomed the newly appointed Ambassadors and expressed confidence in their calibre and unwavering commitment in promoting the Maldives national interest and its foreign policy goals.

The participants of this briefing program included Mr. Hamdun Abdulla Hameed; Mr. Mohamed Hussain Shareef; Ms. Jameela Ali Khalid; Ms. Shaan Shakir; and Ms. Fathimath Inaya. The session was also attended by diplomatic staff of the Ministry, assigned to Maldives missions abroad.

FOSIM Ambassador Briefing programs are aimed at orienting Ambassador-designates on the issues and challenges faced in the administration and management of missions abroad and to share best practices in dealing these issues for a more effective and efficient implementation of Maldives foreign policy goals.
