Maldives – China relations have gone through a fortification over the last few years says Acting Foreign Minister Iruthisham

29 September 2016; The close relations between the Maldives and China have gone through a further fortification over the last few years says the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, H. E. Ms. Iruthisham Adam. Acting Minister made the statement while speaking as the Chief Guest at the Reception held to celebrate the 67th National Day reception.

Acting Minister Iruthisham conveyed warm greetings and good wishes on behalf of His Excellency President Yameen Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, and the People of Maldives to His Excellency President Xi Jinping and the friendly people of China on the occasion.

Acting Minister Iruthisham also highlighted the strong bilateral and economic cooperation between the two countries and thanked the Government and people of China for the generous assistance provided to the Maldives. She also noted that the China – Maldives Friendship Bridge will stand as an iconic symbol of the close relations between the two countries.

The Reception held at Hotel Jen to celebrate the 67th National Day of the People’s Republic of China was hosted by H. E. Wang Fukang, Ambassador of China to the Maldives.
