Japan Ambassador pays farewell call on Foreign Minister

21 July 2016, Male'; The Ambassador of Japan His Excellency Mr. Kenichi Suganuma, paid his farewell call on H.E. Dr. Mohamed Asim, Minister of Foreign Affairs at Ministry of Foreign Affairs this morning.

During the call, Minister Asim thanked the Ambassador for the cooperation extended to the Maldives during his tenure as Ambassador. Minister also expressed his gratitude for the important contributions Japan continues to make towards the socio-economic development of the Maldives.

The Minister and Ambassador exchanged views on further strengthening the bilateral and multilateral relations between the Maldives and Japan. Minister highlighted the historical bonds of friendship between the two countries and that Maldives attaches great importance to the ties wi 

The meeting was attended by Additional Secretary Mr. Ibrahim Shaheeb and Joint Secretary Ms. Aishath Azeema of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Masaharu Shimizu, Charge’d’ affaires, Counsellor, Embassy of Japan in Maldives and Mr. Hokuto Kaya, First Secretary, Embassy of Japan in Sri Lanka also attended the call.
