Foreign Minister Dunya sends Independence Day greetings to the Foreign Minister of Sri Lanka

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency Ms Dunya Maumoon has sent a message of greetings to the Minister of External Affairs of Sri Lanka, His Excellency Mr. Mangala Samaraweera on the occasion of the 67th Anniversary of the independence of Sri Lanka.
Minister Dunya’s message reads as follows:
“On the occasion of the 67th Independence Day Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, I extend warm congratulations and good wishes to the Government and people of Sri Lanka.”
“As close friends and neighbours and as partners in development, the Maldives and Sri Lanka have enjoyed strong bilateral relations based on mutual respect and understanding. I take this opportunity to express hope and confidence that our two countries will continue working together on bilateral and international issues of mutual concern, to further strengthen our close ties of friendship and cooperation.“
“Once again on behalf of the Government of Maldives and on my own behalf, I extend heartiest congratulations on this joyous occasion and wish continued progress and prosperity to the friendly people of Sri Lanka in the years ahead.”
