Foreign Service Institute of Maldives (FOSIM) starts an Orientation Programme for the new staff

18 May 2014, Male’; Foreign Service Institute of Maldives (FOSIM) has today started an Orientation Programme for the new staff who joined the Ministry from January 2013 to date.

The Orientation Programme started this morning with opening remarks from the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency Ms. Dunya Maumoon. In her remarks Minister stressed the importance of having regular orientation and refresher Programmes. Furthermore, each and every staff to be aware of the functions of the Ministry, Foreign Policy and the mandates of all the different sections of the Ministry. Minister also said that every single staff of the Ministry is responsible to represent the country and promote the best interests of the country according to the Foreign Policy.

The participants will be briefed on the Foreign Policy, Organization Structure and Departments of Ministry, Administration and Management, Civil Service Regulations and Guidelines, Human Rights, Anti-Corruption, Budgeting and Management, Protocol Theories and Practices, Drafting and Correspondence, Customer Care, Time Management, Etiquette and Ethics,

The objective of this Programme is to raise awareness about the Ministry and its functions, Foreign Policy, and to get new staff oriented to the daily work of the Ministry.

The Orientation Programme will be held from 18th to 26th May 2014.
