Foreign Minister Dunya attends the Top Achievers’ Award Ceremony

8 May 2014, Male’; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency Ms. Dunya Maumoon has attended the Top Achiever’s Award Ceremony held tonight at Dharubaaruge. A total of 479 students from all across the Maldives made it to the Top Ten Achievers List of 2013 Cambridge O-Level Examinations. 

Amongst them, four students were classified as global top achievers and their awards were handed by the President, His Excellency Mr. Yameen Abdul Gayoom. Further, 21 students scoring top marks in different subjects, were classified between second and tenth places in the global top achievers list.

In addition, 40 students came in first place in the Top Ten achievers list, and eight students won the 'High Achiever' award.

Minister Dunya, was invited at the function to hand the awards to the group of students who won second place in the Top Ten achievers list.

Awards were also given to the schools with the best performance and results.

Compared to 2012 results, the number of students among the Top Ten list has increased by 53 students in 2013. Among the schools that took Cambridge examinations in 2013, a two-percent increase is noted amongst students who had passed in comparison to 2012 education ministry statistics.
