New Egyptian Ambassador Presents Credentials to the President

The new Egyptian Ambassador accredited to the Maldives, Mr. ‎Mahmoud Hisham Mohamed Assra presented his letter of credence to ‎President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, this morning.‎

At the ceremony held at the President’s Office to present the ‎credentials, President Yameen congratulated Ambassador Assra on the ‎commencement of his term. ‎

Meeting the new Ambassador after the ceremonial presentation of ‎credentials, President Yameen expressed hope that the long- standing ‎bilateral relations that exist between the two countries would further ‎enhance during the tenure of Ambassador Assra.‎

President Yameen expressed his gratitude to the Egyptian ‎Government for the continuous support being provided, especially in the ‎area of education. In this regard, the President highlighted that a large ‎number of scholars have been educated from the Al-Azhar University in ‎Egypt.‎
