Chinese Ambassador calls on the Vice President

Ambassador of China accredited to the Maldives, His Excellency Wang Fukang, has paid a courtesy call on Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed.

At the meeting held at the President’s Office this morning, discussions were focused on the close bilateral relations between the Maldives and China, and on areas to further extend cooperation between the two countries. The Vice President and the Chinese Ambassador highlighted the importance of cultural cooperation between the two countries. They also exchanged views on the investment opportunities in the Maldives for Chinese entrepreneurs.

The Chinese Ambassador noted that the two countries have been able to grow mutual trust in the political arena, and assured the Vice President of his commitment to maintain the good relations. He also reiterated that China would continue its assistance in human resource development in the Maldives.

Speaking at the meeting, the Vice President expressed his confidence that the relations between the two countries would strengthen during Ambassador Fukang’s tenure. He also applauded the invaluable services extended by the Chinese Government, towards the development of Maldives.
